What makes prepping for an anime con different

Anime cons are indoor, climate-controlled, and crowded. Your enemy is not weather, it is the schedule and the crowd. The build that survives is the one you can repair in a hotel bathroom at 8am.

• Photoshoot meetups and panels run on a clock. Print the schedule and your meetup times before you arrive so you are not refreshing the app on a dying phone.
• Artist alley and the dealer hall eat hours and cash. Set a buy list and a budget before the doors open.
• Convention center floors are concrete under thin carpet. Costume shoes were not built for eight hours of walking, so pack backup shoes.
• Bag and prop policies vary by show. Check the peace-bonding rules for your prop before you build it to size.
