parking
Tampa Convention Center garage has 465 covered spaces. The Pam Iorio Parking Garage (790 spaces, between the TCC and Amalie Arena) and the Fort Brooke Garage (556 spaces, a 7-minute walk) both charge $5-$12/day depending on the lot.
food
No outside food is allowed inside the convention center. The Tampa Riverwalk runs along the building's waterfront side with waterfront bars and restaurants. Ybor City, Tampa's historic Latin quarter, is minutes away by the TECO Line Streetcar.
hotels
Embassy Suites Tampa Downtown Convention Center is the official METROCON host hotel, connected via skybridge. Hyatt Place Tampa Downtown, Tampa Marriott Water Street, and the JW Marriott are all within a short walk along the Riverwalk.
weather
Tampa in late July to early August averages 90F+ with very high humidity and daily afternoon thunderstorms. Plan photo shoots in the morning before the storms roll in.
transit
The TECO Line Streetcar System connects the convention center to Ybor City and downtown. Water taxis run along the Riverwalk. Rideshare drop-offs have a designated zone at the venue.
bags
Props with any part extending more than 4 inches off your body are considered props and must follow Metrocon's prop policy. No sharp edges or points allowed. Toy firearms must have an orange barrel tip and triggers zip-tied.
badges
Lost badges are replaced at full price with no exceptions. Children under 6 attend free with a guardian. Ages 6-12 qualify for discounted passes. Badge must be worn visibly at all times.
